Currently offering Telehealth sessions during the COVID-19 pandemic. Congrats! You have done the first and often hardest step of finding a therapist. During these difficult times, it makes sense that you might be feeling lost and needing more support. This time can be especially hard for people who have experienced trauma or struggle with anxiety and depression. I specialize in working with young adults who have gone through recent or past trauma(s) or who struggle with long term depression or anxiety. I want to teach you the skills that you need to be your own therapist. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which is an evidence based practice, that helps you learn the skills to become your own therapist. CBT is a collaborative approach that empowers you to be in the driver's seat of your treatment. Through my experience and research, CBT has show to be beneficial for those who struggle with PTSD, depression, and anxiety. It is important to me to provide a non-judgmental, empathetic place where you can share your thoughts and feelings.
I have been in private practice since 1997. After graduating from the California School of Professional Psychology with a Ph.D in clinical psychology and U.C. Berkeley with an MPH, I practiced in California which included attending privileges at several hospitals. I moved back East in 2001, and have been in private practice since that time. In addition to my private practice, I provide consultation to the University of Massachusetts Medical School Department of Psychiatry medical students, residents and fellows. I see undergraduate students from MIT to Worcester State, as well as high school students. I can say with complete honesty that I love my work and feel blessed to be of service to those willing to share their lives and collaborate to find the life they need. People come to share their deepest hopes and their deepest pain. Together we make sense of life in a way that works for you. Sh

Codi is a psychotherapist with experience working working adolescents and adults seeking support managing life changes. Codi practices from a relational, client centered approach. In addition to a B.A. in Feminist and Gender Studies from Colorado College, Codi holds a Masters of Social Work from Smith College School for Social Work. They come to APP with previous experience in access to higher education, direct service with incarcerated and formerly incarcerated people, and community mental health. Their work is informed by a critical lens that helps clients examine systems and institutions of power and the roles those structure play in our suffering and healing. They are interested in creating a practice that can center the acknowledgment and influence of race, and other identities, in relationship. They hope to hold space for clients to explore, create and recreate themselves.

At Spark the Change we whole-heartedly believe people can make changes to improve daily functioning, manage stress , and become their authentic selves. Let us help you on your journey and spark the change! "Change the way you look at things & the things you look at change" Wayne W. Dyer
“I want to feel happier and less depressed.” “We would like to improve our relationship.” “I would like to feel calmer and more in control, in spite of the stress, loss and trauma I have experienced.” “We want to help our children cope with our divorce.” “We need to figure out how we are going to live as a divorced family.” These are some of the most frequent goals of my clients as we work together. Many of the stresses and conflicts my clients face can be due to life’s experiences and losses or can come from within. Stress and conflict can lead to disintegration of relationships with our partners and our children, and even in how we view ourselves. Strengthening coping skills, emotional connection and intimacy can help repair fractures, increase compassionate understanding, and build closeness. Focusing on positive growth, shifting well-engrained patterns, and building greater self-acceptance can create lasting change and happiness. As a clinical psychologist with over 40 years of experience, I help adults, couples and families, by integrating many different therapeutic approaches to best fit my clients’ needs.

I offer flexible scheduling for those who need it - we can meet weekly, bi-weekly, or 'grab & go' style where you pick up an appointment as needed. I practice 'relational, client-centered' therapy where you are the leader in the work we do together. I value the client-therapist relationship & show up as a whole person therapist - if I cannot provide competent care & support for your therapeutic needs, I will work with you to find you the therapist you deserve. I primarily see individuals experiencing life overwhelm, chronic illness, perinatal or postpartum concerns, identity exploration, & those in (or interested in) the medical, human services, or first responder fields.
Hi, I'm Colleen! I have been a Social Worker for the last 17 years working with adults, adolescents, children and families. I will bring compassion, reflection and a little humor during our time together. In sessions, I utilize several integrated modalities to really adjust to what the individual needs are. I like to use a Person-Centered Approach, meeting the individual where they are in order to collaboratively develop obtainable goals and explore healthy coping strategies. We will use Psychodynamic Therapy to explore the individuals thoughts and feelings, and how the past may be impacting their present or future.
The clients I work with are often creative, sensitive people-pleasers who are feeling overwhelmed and alone. They’re struggling with their relationships and figuring out who they are and where they fit. Life is exhausting, as they second-guess every word that comes out of their mouth. The noise of everyone else’s expectations makes it impossible to sort out what they really want. With a compassionate and playful approach, we will break down your fears while uncovering what gives you strength, what lights you up, and what helps you feel confident.
