Therapists for college students near Harvard University
Your plate is more than full. You’re struggling with managing it all at once. Whether college, work, family, a declining family member or your own medical illness, things are hard. Life can feel overwhelming. You’re exhausted. You put other’s needs in front of your own. You keep pushing these feelings down and telling yourself “it’ll be okay” because you can’t take on JUST. ONE. MORE. THING. You may smile and say “I’m good thanks” when asked but know inside you’re not as good as you lead on. You deserve the time to slow down and be heard. It's hard to make the time for therapy, but your inner voice will thank you. You can come as you are without judgement. Cry, laugh, scream- do whatever you need to to let these feelings out so we can work on rebuilding you back up. It may not be easy, but you’ve already proven to yourself how strong you are by even considering asking for help. You are worth it. You deserve this. If any of this feels the least bit familiar, I encourage you to reach out to see if we would be a good fit for therapy together. As a working mom of two toddlers managing life’s craziness, I assure you that I will be authentic in every interaction we have because I get it. Life is hard, but I am here for you. I can’t wait to get started!
** Telehealth Session Available ** Our focus is to help individuals heal, energize, and become aware of their inner strengths. At Kiwi Recovery, you’ll find specialized clinical care with the goal of helping adolescents and young adults find sustainable pathways toward recovery. We offer effective, evidence-based outpatient behavioral health treatment in our Concord center. Behavioral health and addiction issues can seem overwhelming. Peer pressure, academic stress, and the process of growing up are already difficult enough, but the added pressure of mental health struggles or substance use can make it even harder. Adolescents and young adults who struggle with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and other conditions may turn to drugs and alcohol for relief. However, this often leads to a cycle of dependence and addiction. Kiwi Recovery is here to break this cycle. We provide individualized treatment plans backed by evidence-based practices and the most up-to-date research, and our team is passionate about helping this population move toward recovery.

We are a holistic and integrative counseling + wellness practice that strives to assist you in finding the root cause for what you have been experiencing, thus bringing you back to balance. We believe that there are so many factors that contribute to dysfunction in our health, and if one aspect is off then that's when we start to experience symptoms. These symptoms - whether a warm body temperature, a headache, or anxiety - are energetic shifts in our body that alert us. Through the process of counseling, wellness programs, specific approaches, and other offerings we provide, you will explore these dysfunctions, get to the root of them, and ultimately become a more balanced self. Wherever you are at in this moment, that's where we will begin. Together we will uncover, strengthen, and uplift the loose pieces that create who you are. Just remember: the anchor will always be there and can be used anytime throughout the process

As the owner of North Andover Counseling and a Psychotherapist for over 20 years, I bring a non-judgmental and down to earth approach to therapy. I offer a safe environment that provides a supportive place for children, adolescents and adults to begin to build skills to navigate life challenges after life altering events. I work with your strengths and help you develop new strategies to deal with the issues you want to change. It takes courage to ask for help. I respect how hard that can be. A quick conversation can help you decide if I can be of assistance to you, if we are a good fit.
Our mission is to provide personalized, high-quality mental health care to children and adults who want to change patterns, behaviors, and symptoms that consistently affect their lives or relationships. We believe in the behavioral approach and in seeing concrete, tangibly-positive changes in each individual we treat.
If you are feeling stuck, stressed, anxious, sad, avoidant, unmotivated, distracted, or generally discontent with yourself, your social life, your job, your purpose, or a particular relationship or situation you have found yourself in, you might be suffering from anxiety, depression, or acute stress disorder. My passion is helping individuals with anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. I have multiple years of professional and private practice experience helping teens, middle aged, senior adults, and couples navigate emotional difficulties and traumatic periods of their lives.
I have experience working with teens and adults navigating anxiety, depression, OCD, major life transitions, and burnout among other areas. I offer a calm, warm, and non-judgmental presence to those I work with. I tend to think creatively and enjoy deepening a sense of understanding by using art therapy or expressive therapies when appropriate. I enjoy helping others face their fears, learn new skills to tackle negative thoughts, and better understand how to process their emotions. I also have experience working with those navigating spiritual issues within the Christian faith. I offer compassion, understanding, and empathy as I work alongside those experiencing stressful life events, difficult emotions, or mental health struggles. I often use CBT and ERP for anxiety, depression, and OCD. However, I cater my treatment to each individual to best meet their needs. I use creativity and art therapy alongside traditional talk therapy. I invite you to reach out to see if we could be a good fit. I would be honored to guide you towards growth and witness your entrance into a new chapter of healing.

I’m Lisa M Burke, LICSW, a clinician based in Concord, Massachusetts. I provide parent guidance and work with children, adolescents and young adults. I specialize in treating patients with Depression, Anxiety, Emotional Dysregulation, Life Transitions, Behavioral Difficulties, Autism Spectrum Disorder and mild Intellectual Disabilities. In 2016, I left my job as a Clinical Program Director, at McLean Hospital to bring my clinical knowledge and training to the suburbs. I care about each of my patients and spend time evaluating their needs and goals, to create a treatment plan that is tailored to their specific needs. I believe in using different therapeutic methods while treating my patients, as I feel not everyone benefits from being treated by one method. This multidimensional approach allows me to be flexible, creative, and lets me target a patient’s specific need, which I feel leads to better treatment and better outcomes. I am certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Interventions from Boston University and I am trained in DBT from Behavioral Tech, SPACE: Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). I also have an interest in the therapeutic impact of humor and Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT). I am trained in improvisational comedy and often incorporate humor into my sessions. My dog Kaia and I are a certified animal assisted therapy team. Kaia enjoys coming to sessions with those who request her presence. My patients well-being is my number one priority, and I go above and beyond to help each patient.

Ever since that awful event, do you hate being touched by your partner? Do you feel misunderstood and now you’re worried that your partner, friends, and family are starting to resent you? Have you felt distant or disconnected because you can’t get disturbing images out of your head? Therapy can help. I help young adults learn the skills needed to turn down the volume of overwhelming emotions so that they can live fully and love deeply.
My clients are women who have reached a point where something needs to change. They feel stuck in their patterns and behaviors, unable to stop and not understanding why. They are overwhelmed with uncomfortable emotions. It feels like their past intrudes on their present. They ask questions like “what’s wrong with me?” and tend to be hard on themselves. They may not feel seen or heard. They may frequently face conflict in their relationships. Many women experience life this way. You are not alone. I help women piece together their past, understand patterns, and respond differently to their environment. Together, we will identify the skills you need to respond instead of react, support yourself in distress, and return to feeling safe and grounded. I provide a warm and non-judgmental space for you to explore who you are and how you got there, at your own pace. A dedicated time and space to focus on yourself can make a world of difference. Many women live in a state of “doing,” rarely having the opportunity to rest, restore, and connect with themselves. Reaching out for the first time can feel scary. I offer a complimentary phone consultation to ensure you feel comfortable with me before moving forward. I welcome the opportunity to support you on your healing journey.
