College is an exciting time though it can be an overwhelming one as well. College comes with its own unique set of challenges - increased workload, the need for greater time management, increased independence, and trying to find a good work-life balance, to name a few. College life can bring on new anxiety or exacerbate pre-existing anxiety, and managing this and coping in healthy and effective ways can prove difficult at times. Anxiety and stress can also trigger new or worsen pre-existing Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs), like excoriation disorder (skin picking) and trichotillomania (hair pulling). If you are a female student struggling with anxiety and need help managing it, and/or are having a difficult time with BFRBs, I would love to work with you. Together we will work on identifying stressors/triggers as well as strategies and skills you can use to better manage your anxiety and/or your BFRB. I look forward to meeting you!

Together, we will work to define your treatment goals and to create new patterns of thinking, feeling, and relating to others and the world around you. Welcome! Thank you for being here. I'm so excited to get to know you and your nervous system. As a trauma and somatic therapist, I help women process unresolved trauma through a Somatic Experiencing framework while also helping them increase self-esteem, self-confidence, set healthy boundaries and ultimately live an intentional life outside of survival mode. I work with women experiencing anxiety, dissociation, trauma flashbacks/memories and psychosomatic symptoms. Psychosomatic symptoms include, muscle tension, burning sensations, non-epileptic seizures, heart palpitations, tightness in the throat, tingling, IBS, migraines, etc. As a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, I work with your nervous system to help create safety in your body, increase the capacity for you to be with uncomfortable emotions/sensations, and discharge stored traumatic energy so that your nervous system can return to a more balanced state. If you're ready to connect with your body, somatic therapy is for you. I offer ongoing individual therapy sessions as well as DROP-IN sessions. Drop-in sessions are the perfect way to try out Somatic Experiencing without committing to ongoing therapy. To book your drop-in session, visit my website and book online. Many people I work with describe their struggles with self-doubt, persistent worries, irrational fears, and "overthinking" tendencies, saying that they second-guess themselves and struggle to quiet their anxious thoughts. Often, these struggles are a result of past traumatic events that have shaped how the brain perceives the world. Other times, these struggles may trace back to unhelpful messaging from outside sources, which can result in learned behaviors, patterns, and ways of thinking that promote anxiety, worry, and shame. I use modalities such as EMDR, psychodynamic therapy, and CBT to support clients with these struggles. Therapy can support us to uncover and understand the impacts that traumas and other past events have on how we navigate the world. This awareness, coupled with therapeutic interventions, can support us to heal from past hardships and make changes to the learned survival techniques that are no longer serving us. Those who work with me describe me as compassionate, accepting, and interactive in my approach, and I strive to create a comfortable and judgment-free environment for my clients. I offer online scheduling, specialized, evidence-based approaches, and brief, no-cost phone consultations. I encourage you to reach out to see if working together may be a good fit!
There is a delicate balance between accepting life as it is and our inherent desire for change. This duality is at the heart of my therapeutic approach-creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where individuals feel empowered to explore themselves, their experiences, and their potential for growth. I specialize in providing compassionate support for those navigating the complexities of major life adjustments, relationship issues, trauma, anxiety, depression, and personal crises. I approach this with deep respect for each person’s unique spiritual beliefs, existential questions, and process of meaning making. I draw inspiration from humanistic and transpersonal theories, integrating evidence-based modalities like Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I also incorporate mindfulness practices, guided imagery, and grounding exercises to help clients build resilience, find inner peace, and cultivate a sense of agency in their lives. As an RYT 200 Yoga Teacher, I also believe in the transformative power of body-mind connection. I integrate elements of yoga, meditation, and self-care, recognizing the importance of maintaining balance, well-being, and grounding in the present moment. I believe this quote from The Lord of the Rings captures the essence of my work: “All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.” It is a reminder that we have the power to shape our lives, our healing, and the way we approach each moment. I look forward to working with you and supporting you on your own journey toward growth, healing, and transformation.
