Hi! I am a licensed outpatient mental health counselor with a community mental health background, and work primarily from young/emerging adulthood to middle adulthood. I have experience working with complex trauma, as well as challenges associated with emerging adulthood, gaining independence, and setting personal goals for growth. Additionally, I enjoy providing support to other mental health clinicians seeking services themselves. I offer one-on-one outpatient therapy using a variety of modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), attachment-based therapy, and more. I am a licensed independent clinical social worker (LICSW). For nearly 15 years, I worked as a high school teacher, advisor, dean, and administrator. Working with adolescents was fun, rewarding, and dynamic. As a social worker, I have worked in college settings, residential substance use treatment, and a community mental health clinic. I have significant clinical experience supporting clients with depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance use, and specialize in working with adolescents, college students and emerging adults. I bring a particular appreciation for the stage of life between childhood and full adulthood, an understanding of the pressures of this age range, and a wealth of experience helping people navigate the challenges of growing up. I feel comfortable working with people of all identities and backgrounds. I specialize in supporting adolescents and young adults, Jewish and other faith communities, and older adults. I strive to be culturally competent and curious as I learn about another person. I believe everyone needs to be heard and helped regardless of religion, creed, or political beliefs.

My clients are often very conscious of the systemic stressors that make their lives more difficult, and come to me looking for support as they navigate challenges and imagine their futures. I specialize in identity exploration, trauma-focused practice, and LGBTQIA+ mental health. I use a blend of talk therapy and drama therapy to engage my clients in reflection on their present challenges from an embodied perspective, and provide a fuller understanding of how their past shows up in their present. She received her BA in Social Work at Providence College and her Masters of Social Work (MSW) at Salem State University. She has been in the practice for over twenty-five years, working with both children and adults. Alicia has extensive training and experience in crisis management and stabilization.
