I work hard to create a safe and inviting space for my clients to work on whichever problems they choose to bring into their sessions. My approach reflects my empathic, nonjudgmental, and compassionate style. Welcome to Soul Sync Health! We are a psychiatrist-led, trauma-informed practice in New York dedicated to providing evidence-based care for students and young adults. Many of the individuals we work with share a common feeling: on the outside, they seem to be "handling it," but on the inside, they are running on fumes. Whether you are navigating the pressure of being a high-achiever, feeling the weight of "imposter syndrome," or struggling to find your identity outside of academic or family expectations, you aren’t alone. We believe that your mental health cannot be separated from the world you live in, which is why our work is rooted in the understanding that your race, gender, sexuality, and cultural background deeply shape your lived experience. We invite your whole self into the room, acknowledging that systemic barriers and identity-based struggles are often at the heart of the stress you carry. We’ve found that our clients thrive best in a space where they don’t have to "perform" or explain away their cultural values. If you’re tired of being told to simply "practice self-care" while your plate remains overflowingly full, we offer a different, culturally responsive approach. Our practice is a judgment-free zone where we help you untangle the "mental fog" of anxiety, code-switching, and decision fatigue. By breaking down big, overwhelming feelings into smaller, manageable pieces, we work together to move you from a state of constant survival to a place of genuine, grounded confidence. We strive to provide care that is curious rather than presumptive, meeting you with the validation you deserve as you navigate the complexities of your unique identity. Our ultimate goal is to help you build a life that feels authentic to you, not just one that looks good on paper. We work best with those who are ready to look beneath the surface and explore the roots of their stress, building sustainable tools that last long after graduation. At Soul Sync Health, we prioritize a collaborative approach that honors your perspective and helps you dismantle the internal and external pressures holding you back. You don’t need to have the "right" words or a perfect plan to start; you just need to show up as you are. We’re here to help you find your own rhythm in the middle of all the noise.
The way we think about ourselves and the world we are in greatly influences our feelings and actions. If we take the time to consider other alternatives, we might be able to see events from a more helpful perspective, and with practice, engage in more beneficial behaviors. I enjoy making my clients be active participants in their journey towards emotional wellness. My clients are the experts on their own life, and my job is to help you come to discover what is best for yourself. I acknowledge the intersectionality of everyone’s identity to create a welcoming, healing environment to all of my clients. I specialize in working with adolescents, emerging adults of color from the LGBTQ+ community, and work with clients who are experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, coming out, and life transitions. Exploring therapy does not make us "crazy" as many of us might've heard at one point or another. Give yourself the opportunity to be in a supportive space in which you are able to untangle your thoughts and emotions; where you are heard and validated. Let's pave the way towards the creation of healthier coping mechanisms and emotional wellness together.

Hi All! My name is Cari and not so long ago I was a college student..... or at least it feels that way. Looking back I can say I learned a lot in the classroom but more importantly I learned about myself. Mental Health is a issues that has always been swept under the rug. The most significant onset for mental health issues are 18 and onward. This places many college student in a place where they may feel isolated, alone and have no idea what is" wrong" with them. My practice not only focuses on mental health issues but also on substance use, the "hook up" culture, adjustment to college life and many more pertinent struggles young people face today . I did not just gain my experience as a therapist listening to a client on a couch. Much of my work was community based , in very high need neighborhoods in the NYC area. From working in homeless shelters, foster care, and substance use programs, the experience gained was invaluable . I offer more then just a set of listening empathetic ears but an approach to help you rationalize your thoughts and experiences .

I provide psychotherapy and contemporary psychoanalysis for adult individuals of all ages, identities, and backgrounds. I use several therapeutic techniques and an integrative approach that is tailored to suit the needs of each individual patient. I believe in the transformative powers of honesty, authenticity and unconditional positive regard. Therapy is ultimately about meaning making. I listen closely to my patients without judgment and without jumping to conclusions. My goal is to understand you on your own terms—free of any rigid diagnoses or other labels. I believe that the heart of this work resides in the therapeutic relationship itself, and to this end, I seek to build bridges of clarity and comfort between us. Our work together will consist of attempting to understand you in a holistic, depth-oriented manner. We will consider how your past might be effecting your present—have you developed patterns in your life that are inhibiting and no longer serve you well? I understand that some people seek out therapy to address a discrete, well-defined issue, while others come out of a more abstract, gnawing sense that something in their life needs to change.

Are you the go-to person at school, at home, and with friends? You might even feel resentful sometimes - you do so much for others, but you're not getting that same care back from them. And that only makes you feel "selfish" and more guilty! Helping people break free from overworking & resentment is my passion. Many of my clients are people who have partners, friends, or family members living with alcoholism/substance use disorders, mental health concerns, and chronic health issues. You don't have to handle this alone, and you can feel more empowered, connected, and at peace in your life. I offer both psychotherapy and career coaching for my clients. We have room to explore how your past experiences have shaped you, examine the systemic barriers you are facing, build on your strengths and skills, and focus on specific action steps you can take to make changes in your life now. My style is warm, interactive, and practical, focused on helping you gain self-compassion & confidence. If you'd like to talk more, please email me to schedule a free phone consultation. I'd love to hear from you!
Let me tell you a little bit more about me. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over twenty years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. I have always loved helping others. My passion for working with people in their 20s and 30s stems from years of working with children and adolescents in schools. I’ve helped students find their own path into adulthood and see my current work as a continuation of offering that guidance and support. Previous clients describe me as very kind, empathetic, non-judgmental, and caring. Counseling is in my blood, it's all I have ever done and I feel as passionate about it today as I did when I started.
