I thought about listing all my education, training and clinical experience here but I don’t think that’s what you are truly interested in. I believe you want to know whether I would be a good person to work with, whether I can really understand what you are going through, whether you will feel safe talking to me, whether I know what I am doing, whether I am the right match for what you are seeking in therapy. All of those questions and concerns are absolutely valid and I know I was asking myself the same things before I started my own therapy many years ago. So maybe I will tell you a little bit about what it may be like working with me. I am a very active therapist who will get in the weeds with you. I will want to get to know you – who you are as a person, what is going really well in your life, what is missing, what you feel you would like to explore more or change, what your goals and dreams are and the obstacles that have prevented you from creating the kind of fulfilling life you deserve. I use humor often and we laugh a lot in my sessions. I aim to be authentic and honest while creating a warm and non-judgmental space for us to work in. I will be invested in your success and transformation – I get tremendous joy out of supporting my clients through their process of self-discovery and change. I will also challenge you to look at things that may make you feel uncomfortable and hold you accountable to achieving the goals we set up together. My specialties include anxiety, adjusting to college and stress related to academics or relationships, perfectionism, eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia, binge-eating disorder) and disordered eating (including emotional eating, chronic dieting, excessive exercise, body image issues, binge eating, etc.). I want you to know that I am passionate about what I do and believe that therapy can truly be a transformative experience. Please reach out for a free 15-minute consultation to see if we are a good fit. I am excited to get to know you and work together to create lasting change in your life.
If you're reading this you've already taken the first step towards improving your mental health. Congratulations! Life can be overwhelming, I believe we all have a mental backpack we fill with the pebbles and rocks created by the stress and experiences in our life. Eventually the straps fray, it gets heavy, and your back begins to ache. My goal is to help lighten the load! Therapy's an invaluable tool in learning to cope with life's stresses. Through a dynamic of trust and collaboration I strive to create a warm, judgment-free, safe space to explore yourself and the world around you. At your own pace (with some nudges along the way) you’ll gain the self-knowledge and skills needed to live a more stable and fulfilled life. Finding the right therapist can be challenging, and not every clinician is the right fit. I always encourage people to reach out for a free 15 minute consultation by email or through Alma if you think I might be the right person for you
An important part of successful therapy is feeling connected with your therapist. I'll first work with you on building that connection by listening and trying to understanding your feelings and experiences. We will also work collaboratively to understand patterns in your relationships and past experiences that help shape your current situation and behaviors. Coming to a better understanding of yourself, your feelings and behaviors is the first order of change. I also specialize in working with children, adolescents and families. With a Master's in School Psychology, I collaborate well with school professionals to support your child more comprehensively. I also provide parenting support to address challenging behaviors at home. I make sure the therapeutic process is collaborative. By helping you build upon strengths and understand challenges, you can start having a greater awareness of your thoughts, feelings and behaviors and incorporate healthier coping strategies and attain professional, academic, and interpersonal goals. To work on this together, contact me for a free phone consultation.

Feeling stuck in a rut? Feeling stressed and overwhelmed? In a safe and supportive environment you will gain insight and learn specific skills so you can get back on track and start living a more fulfilling life.
College a new world. Young adults often begin to experience anxiety and depression for the first time there, while some have been struggling for years. Either way, dealing with these feelings with experienced help is often the most effective way to approach emotional issues. I’ve worked with many college students on anxiety, depression, the stress of academics, social issues, family conflict, anxiety about careers, and other issues that come up out of this huge change. I help students learn to relate to themselves with curiosity and compassion, quieting that inner voice of self criticism, which will then allow a transition to change and growth. If we both think it’s helpful, I can also intervene with parents, in order to help them understand your struggles better, and have more supportive, constructive family discussions. I also teach mindfulness skills, which helps to cope with overwhelming feelings.

Hello! My name is Justine Vecchione I am a licensed mental health counselor in the state of NY. Are you stressed out? Anxious? Have panic attacks? Are you struggling in school or deciding on a career path? Are you fighting with friends, family, or your significant other? Maybe you've had a recent break-up? Are you pregnant or recently had a baby? Or struggling with a pregnancy loss (either planned or unplanned). I am here to help! I believe that every individual should get to live a happy and fulfilled life but sometimes we need a little help getting there. This is your life, your story. I just want to help give you the tools you need to be where you want to be.
Clients tend to approach me with conundrums that need to be fully understood: “I know what I’m feeling but I don’t know why”; “I keep finding myself in hurtful relationships and I want something different next time around”; “I’m tired of how I’m living and I’m afraid to change”; “I want to feel less lonely”; “I don’t like myself”; “The people I am closest to don’t really know me.” They want to live brightly and with much aliveness, and value being supported, known, and attuned to as they work on changing shape. I work with clients on a range of concerns including, but not limited to, relationships difficulties, depression, anxiety, panic, aftermath of abuse or neglect in family of origin, and transitions/loss across lifespan. I am currently accepting clients in New York.

Imagine actually ENJOYING therapy. Imagine looking forward to therapy each week because your therapist "gets" you and works with you in a down-to-earth way to address your goals. Since therapy is an intense process that tackles intense issues, we believe it should also include authenticity (on our part), humor, and flexibility. We love working with college students and are energetic, creative, and hands-on. We'll work together to design a personalized approach to address your specific goals. Our therapists specialize in a range of issues, including depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, LGBTQ+ identities, and health challenges.
Hello, Thank you for taking a peek at my info. I am passionate about human potential for change. I believe the key to understanding making new change is recognizing the strengths and values we have used to make changes in the past (we’ve all done it). Exploring this process can lead us all to successful resolutions of our concerns and achievement of our goals. See my web page to learn more. Also I do take CDPHP insurance
College students and young adults are my favorite population of people to work with. I enjoy supporting students through these years as they balance academics, relationships, self discovery and adulthood. I specialize in treating Borderline Personality Disorder and other mood regulation concerns.
I am a psychiatrist with experience helping college and graduate students navigate the ups and downs of campus life. In my previous work at Yale Mental Health and Counseling, I supported students dealing with academic stress, identity exploration, mood and anxiety concerns, and the pressure to achieve. In my practice now, I bring together medication management, therapy, and integrative wellness approaches such as mindfulness and somatic practices. My goal is to offer a supportive and collaborative space where you can feel understood, build resilience, and discover ways to feel more balanced and empowered both personally and academically.
