I am trained in EMDR and attend monthly consultation with a certified EMDR consultant. Many people come to me with knowledge or curiosity of stored trauma in the body and its effects. This can look like persistent anxiety, "unexplained" health challenges like autoimmune disease, pelvic pain, abdominal pain and more. Additionally, clients will come to me and say that despite years of talk therapy they still feel stuck and want to explore how EMDR may be helpful for them. EMDR is an 8 phase process that doesn't have a specific timeline; it is catered to your needs and goals and progress is closely monitored throughout.

Dr. Hyun is a board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist. She received her medical degree from the Yale School of Medicine, then continued at Yale for general psychiatry residency. In her final two years of residency, she focused on college student mental health as a provider at Yale Mental Health and Counseling. She then completed her child and adolescent psychiatry training at the NewYork-Presbyterian Columbia/Cornell combined program, where she was the recipient of the Edward J. Sachar Award for Clinical Excellence. Dr. Hyun accepts child, adolescent, and adult patients for diagnostic evaluation, medication management, and/or psychotherapy. She aims to partner with patients to provide care that is individualized, holistic, evidence-based, and developmentally-informed.
