Finding your footing in college isn't always easy, especially when relationships, identity, family and friendship dynamics, or mental health start to feel overwhelming. At Praxis Relationship Therapy, I work with college and graduate students, and young adults who want to better understand themselves and build healthier, more secure relationships. I specialize in relationship concerns (dating, breakups, communication, intimacy), adult child-parent relationship dynamics including adult children of emotionally immature parents, adult ADHD, and major life transitions like adjusting to college or navigating independence. Whether you're feeling stuck in patterns, struggling to connect, ot trying to make sense of your emotions and thoughts, therapy can be a space to slow down and figure things out, with support and structure. As a Turkish-American therapist who came to the U.S. as an international student in 2016, I deeply understand the challenges of cultural adjustment, identity, and belonging. I offer therapy in both English and Turkish, and strive to create an inclusive, culturally responsive space where all backgrounds and identities are welcomed and respected. My approach is collaborative, practical, and grounded in research. At Praxis Relationship Therapy, we don't just talk about your relationships, we work on them!
*** I am offering options for both in-person and teletherapy sessions *** I am a licensed psychologist currently in private practice. Prior to private practice, I worked in college counseling settings, a center for the treatment of substance use disorders, and at the Center for Psychotherapy Research at The University of Pennsylvania. As a result of these experiences, I work well with clients with a wide range of concerns and particularly like working with college students. I strive to provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can feel free to share whatever is concerning you and start working towards living a more fulfilling life. My approach to therapy is collaborative. We can work together to explore your needs and goals for treatment. Rather than using a one-size fits all approach, I use an integrative approach to treatment, incorporating several theoretical perspectives and techniques to meet your unique needs. My work is informed by psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral (CBT), mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) therapies. I work with individuals, who are struggling with a variety issues, including: • Anxiety • Depression • Relationship Problems • Life Transitions • Social Anxiety • Adjustment Difficulties • Substance Abuse • Trauma • ADHD • Chronic Pain • OCD • Low Self-esteem • Loneliness • Anger Issues • Infertility • Divorce • Life Coaching • Sports Performance Whatever is troubling you, I am available to discuss treatment options and can work with you to clarify and address your concerns. If I do not feel that my services would be helpful, I can offer referral information for another professional who might better meet your needs.

Hello! I am a psychologist who enjoys supporting college-age individuals in a variety of ways. In this season of life, academics and social activities can be common stressors, in addition to family and career issues. Students may be struggling with anxiety, depression, or other learning differences that affect them inside and outside the classroom. I enjoy brainstorming and helping young people access the resources they need, both on campus and in their community. I take a holistic approach to healthy living, and look closely at individual habits and behaviors. I also offer a faith-sensitive approach to individuals who would like to include spirituality or religion in their work. I meet with clients in person in our Chalfont and Chester Springs locations, as well as virtually in the 40+ states that participate in PsyPact (https://psypact.gov/page/psypactmap).
Since you’re here, you probably have questions that you are looking to answer, need guidance and support around your struggles and concerns, desire a safe space for exploration and development, or maybe a combination of these. So, how can I help? I am equipped to conduct psychological assessment to promote improved self-understanding and to help build a plan for support across life. Psychological evaluation offers a clear snapshot of functioning characterized by individual patterns, strengths, and needs across a variety of areas. Or if you are looking to secure a supportive environment that facilitates self-discovery, understanding, processing, and growth, I am well-suited to support those needs as well. My therapeutic approach is evidence-based and focuses on the whole person. I also offer a faith-sensitive approach for those who wish to incorporate faith and spirituality into their individual process. Whether you come seeking an evaluation or therapeutic support, I look forward to connecting with you! *Please note: Fees vary depending on therapy vs assessment. I also work between two offices. For now, I am in Chester Springs on Wednesdays with the possibility of Fridays. I am in Chalfont Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays with the possibility of Fridays. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Behavioral Specialist in PA. After graduating in 2004 from Rosemont College, I began my work in Counseling and Behavioral Therapy. I worked for the top companies servicing clients before I decided to go out on my own. I have my private practice, Canopy Counseling Unlimited in Media, PA. I have extensive work with children, adolescents, individuals, families, blended families, and divorced parents. My counseling strength is in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a talking therapy that can help you manage your problems by changing the way you feel, think, and act. The therapy aims to find practical ways to help you deal with problems in a more positive way by breaking them down into smaller parts. With over 19 years of experience, I have worked with individuals diagnosed with Anxiety(Certified,) Autism (Certified) (both child and adult- with a license in this area), ADHD-(certified,) Bipolar, Depression, Stress Management, Trauma(Certified,) and too many others to list. My license in counseling helps focus on feelings and beliefs while my license in behavioral therapy helps focus on behaviors and environments that impede growth. I use both in my approach. My background in mental health has given me experience in knowing that each person's needs are special and unique and that there are no "cookie-cutter" answers to solve problems. (If that was the case there would be one book and I'd be out of a job.) I believe that therapy should be just as important as seeing your doctor or dentist regularly. With the stress of today, everyone is experiencing some parts of their life that are not what they want them to be. We will find strategies that will help you, I will teach you coping skills that will fit you, and help you process the areas in your life you want to change. You will apply these strategies and be able to see a positive change in your life. I want you to be comfortable coming to see me and feel supported. I come up with lots of ideas to help you on your journey. We will work together to understand the "whys" and build better strategies to improve the areas in your life you want to change. We will look at ways to improve communication with others and develop good self-esteem. I believe that everyone can succeed when they feel supported and not judged. I will meet you where you are and work with you on finding balance. My approach is to help individuals and families bring back and restore the balance that was once there and watch the growth that takes place! The language that I speak is English. Outside of behavioral health care and in my free time, I enjoy building things, remodeling, mission work, snow skiing, travel, spending time at the beach, and of course, time with my family.
As a therapist, my goal is to create a welcoming and collaborative space for all to feel safe and supported in creating positive change and becoming the best version of themselves. I work with children, teens, colleage-age students, adults, and couples in navigating the ups and downs of life. I take a personalized approach to each case to ensure I genuinely assess each client’s unique needs and concerns. I am formally trained in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and also utilize Narrative Therapy, Logotherapy, and The Gottman Method for Couples. I have clinical experience in working with Anxiety Disorders, Depressive and Mood Disorders, Trauma, Life Transitions, Career Uncertainty, Grief and Loss, Relationship Conflict, Issues commonly faced by the LGBTQ+ Community, and Eating Disorders. My passions lie in working with folks in the Queer Community and clients with Eating Disorders and disordered eating behaviors. As a certified professional in treating eating disorders (EDTC), I have a passion for working with clients with Eating Disorders and their families to strive for health, happiness, and recovery. I look forward to being with you on your journey to finding meaningful fulfillment and peace in this rollercoaster of life!
Starting therapy can be an overwhelming process; you took the first step! I am happy you are here. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a person-centered, humanistic approach that fosters an environment in which individuals can feel safe, seen, and heard. I am Health at Every Size (HAES) aligned and gender-affirming clinician. The relationship is the most important aspect of the therapeutic work. My primary experience is working with individuals struggling with eating disorders/disordered eating, body image, depression, trauma, anxiety, and other mental health concerns. My style is integrative, with each therapeutic experience tailored to your individual needs. Together, we will work towards personal and collaborative goals to build awareness, resiliency, recognize strengths, and promote growth. The foundation of our sessions is authenticity; guided by the definition “to be true to one’s personality, spirit or character”. If interested, or on the fence, we can schedule a consult to see if it is a good fit!
Hi! I enjoy supporting teens and college-age/emerging adults who are struggling with anxiety, parental separation/divorce, ADHD, depression, self-harm, life transitions, PANS/PANDAS, and self-esteem. No matter what difficulties you may be dealing with, I will help you to recognize underlying challenges, encourage positive thinking, identify strengths, and work to support healthy ways to progress within your areas of need. College life is exciting - but it can also feel overwhelming. Between academics, athletics, social pressures, career planning, and navigating independence, it’s easy to feel anxious, stressed, or unsure of yourself. I work with college students who are ready to take control of their mental health, build resilience, and feel more confident in their daily lives. I specialize in supporting students who experience anxiety, depression, stress, and challenges related to self-esteem, motivation, or life transitions. I also work with students navigating substance use or patterns that feel out of control. Many of the students I see are high achievers who feel pressure to “do it all” or struggle with perfectionism. In therapy, my approach is practical, collaborative, and personalized. We focus on building skills to manage stress, cope with difficult emotions, and create routines that help you thrive academically, socially, and personally. Together, we explore what matters most to you and how to make choices that align with your goals and values. If you’re looking for a space where you can be honest, be seen, and learn strategies that actually work in the context of student life, I’d love to support you.
