Sometimes life sits heavy on our shoulders. This past year has been especially difficult- isolating, ever changing and transforming “normal” as we knew it. We need support along the way to untie knots, approach new solutions and receive warm support, especially during difficult chapters in life. I am a licensed clinical social worker, specializing in helping individuals find solutions with a supportive, problem solving approach. You can expect that therapy with me will prioritize understanding your individual needs and collaboration.
I'm Sandi Christiansen (she/her/hers), a Licensed Professional Counselor through the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP), and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). I obtained my undergraduate degree in Psychology and Sociology at Saint Joseph's University, and my Master's in Clinical & Counseling Psychology at Chestnut Hill College with a specialization in Child & Adolescent Counseling. I have been licensed since 2010, and have been working in the field of mental health and substance use disorders for almost 15 years. I recognize the vulnerability and strength it takes to decide to start going to therapy and begin making changes. Whether you're a college student struggling with friendships, a young adult managing life and its stressors, a parent of a child experiencing anxiety...it's hard to know where to start. I'm here to help you navigate! I utilize strength-based cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), with elements of a psychodynamic approach (touching on attachment, relationship, and behavior patterns through the lens of object relations theory). I maintain unconditional positive regard for my clients, and offer what I hope will become a safe space for people to talk about difficult things. Together, we will set achievable, measurable goals for your future as well as gaining a better understanding of your past. I pride myself on my professionalism and experience, but most importantly I have been told over and over again that I am relatable, approachable, and non-judgmental. I tell my clients all the time -- I am the expert in the field, but you are the expert on your own life. If any of this resonates with you, we might be a good fit to work together. Please feel comfortable reaching out to set up a complimentary 15 minute consultation. I look forward to hearing from you and helping you find your next step.

Life is hard. Wherever you are currently, our guess is it’s not exactly the way you had envisioned it when you were a kid. Some of that is because of our own choices and mistakes; other parts are from bad hands we were dealt along the way. Regardless of how you got here, we know one thing to be true: You want your life to be different than it is right now. The problem is how to make that happen. There is an endless number of opinions on what you should do and, if we’re honest, it can be overwhelming trying to decide which route is best for you. We believe counseling is a great place to start. In fact, since 2018, we’ve helped more than 1,000 people go from barely getting by to having the tools they need to experience life in a different way than before. While the idea of counseling might be scary, we know how hard life can be and believe you shouldn’t have to face your problems alone. At Lime Tree, we match you with a therapist who is right for you and what you’re dealing with. From there, you and your counselor will create goals for your time together and you will get a personalized plan as you move forward. We walk with you through the entire process with quality and compassionate care the whole way. Getting started is easy: simply reach out on our website or through a phone call. Our Client Care Coordinator will work with you to get you matched with the right therapist and schedule your first session. It’s not healthy to do life alone. Reach out today so you can get unstuck, enjoy the day-to-day, and begin to thrive in life.

The potential for happiness, peace and belonging is within each of us. During times of natural and unexpected life transitions and challenges, it may seem out of reach. Using the tenets of positive psychology, in conjunction with proven mental health counseling approaches, we will work together to cultivate these things in your life and construct the present and future that you envision. Intentionally building a flourishing life – one that fits with your unique strengths and values– will be an important goal of our work together, no matter your age, life circumstances or personal and family history. Areas in which I have experience are developing strategies that promote a more positive mood and lessened anxiety and worry, improving family and peer relationships, navigating life transitions, and exploring the role of spirituality, faith and religious practices in your life. My clinical approach is integrative, primarily drawing on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, and positive psychology, but always focused on the unique needs of the whole individual, mind, body, and spirit. With a Master’s degree in Pastoral Clinical Mental Health Counseling, I am qualified to integrate clinical counseling with spirituality in a way that respects all faiths and religious practices, wherever you are in your journey of faith, or even if you have no professed beliefs. I am also a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where I obtained a Master of Applied Positive Psychology. I also hold a Master of Science degree in Pharmacology, which provides me valuable understanding of the role of medications in promoting mental health and achieving positive well-being. Married for 37 years and the mother of two young adults, I approach counseling with an authentic, real-life perspective.
Therapy is more about building new associations, making new, healthier default pathways. It is almost as if therapy is taking your two-lane dirt road and building a four-lane freeway alongside it. The old road stays, but you don’t use it much anymore. Therapy is building a better alternative, a new default. And that takes repetition, and time, honestly, it works best if someone understands how the brain changes. This is why understanding how trauma impacts our health is essential for everyone.” ~ Dr. Bruce Perry I am a licensed professional counselor with over 10 years of experience in various mental health settings such as Outpatient facilities, Inpatient hospitals, Crisis Center, but mainly in public and private alternative school settings. I have served children, adolescents/teens as well as adults. I attended Cairn University, where I received my Master of Science in Christian Counseling and Bachelor of Science in Bible with a concentration in Social Work at Lancaster Bible College. I also hold a Trauma-Informed certification as well as NMT (Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics) certification where I specialize in helping clients utilize various tools to regulate certain regions of the brain. I utilize various therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Support Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Reality Therapy, Person Centered Therapy and Social Skills Training. I believe in incorporating different therapies according to client’s treatment plan and goals. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. Welcome, I'm glad you're here. I tend to work best with clients who are experiencing adjustments to life stages, and/or those who identify with Borderline Personality Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and anxiety disorders. I am passionate about creating spaces, both in therapy and in communities, that can hold all parts of us, including the vulnerable and painful ones, and allow them to connect rather than isolate us. I work to empower clients to understand their thoughts and feelings, develop coping strategies, and reclaim their lives. Our individualized therapy sessions provide a safe space for healing and growth, guiding you toward lasting resilience and improved mental well-being. Whether you’re struggling with intrusive thoughts, overwhelming worry, or persistent sadness, my role is to guide you in uncovering and embracing these resources through a compassionate and supportive therapeutic relationship. I also work with couples, where I provide a safe and supportive environment so that partners can explore their feelings, improve communication, and navigate conflicts. With personalized strategies and evidence-based techniques, I’m here to help couples rediscover intimacy, build trust, and foster a deeper connection. Whether you’re facing a specific issue or seeking to enhance your relationship, I’m here to guide you on your journey to a healthier, happier partnership. Let’s work together to create the love and understanding you deserve. Whether you're interested in individual, couple's, or group therapy, I strive to create a compassionate healing environment built on trust, transparency and mutual respect, in which clients can reclaim their sense of power and agency as they reconnect with their inner strength. In our sessions, you can expect a warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental environment where we explore your inner world and develop practical tools for emotional resilience. My approach is collaborative, and I aim to empower you to understand and embrace all parts of yourself, leading to a more balanced and fulfilling life. I earned my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Drexel University, and my Bachelor’s from the State University of New York at Oswego. I have formal training in Exposure Response Prevention, the gold standard of OCD treatment, but also heavily incorporate other modalities in my work and will always tailor our work to your needs. When not at work, I can often be found with friends at a local coffee shop, or home spending time with my partner and our two cats, Jack and Hendricks.

After struggling with anxiety or depression for long enough, you may start to feel stuck. Anxiety and depression can make us think and act in ways that ironically leave us feeling even more anxious and depressed, creating a kind of "vicious cycle." Fortunately, advances in evidence-based therapies have given rise to interventions that can reliably interrupt this cycle, so you can stop struggling and start living. I work with my clients using cognitive-behavioral and humanistic approaches, and incorporate mindfulness-based interventions to decrease the impact of challenging thoughts and emotions, while simultaneously increasing engagement with who and what matters most. Your values and goals will guide our work together every step of the way. Choosing a therapist can be difficult - an online profile can only tell you so much. My advice is to speak with a few different therapists first to determine who feels like a good fit for you, and trust your instincts! Contact me for a free 15-20 minute phone consultation.

I specialize in the assessment of neurological, developmental and learning challenges. As a neuropsychologist and certified school psychologist, most of my time is spent on neuropsychological evaluations for educational purposes, helping students with developmental delays, learning disabilities, ADHD and brain injuries, including concussions. Over the years, my services have grown with my patients to include services for adults with these same challenges as well. I am on staff at Doylestown Hospital and, as a Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS), I serve as the neuropsychological consultant to the Bucks County IU’s BrainSTEPS Program, where we work to help students with concussions and severe brain injuries re-enter school successfully.
