I am a Board Certified Psychiatrist and I draw from my 10+ years of experience in College Mental Health to provide care to students preparing for and managing the mental health challenges of college. I strongly believe in evaluating and treating the whole person and in meeting you where you are with a goal of helping you find the path to your best possible self. I have a particular interest in anxiety related disorders and utilize a holistic approach to managing anxiety and helping students optimize wellness. I incorporate skills from CBT, ACT, and Mindfulness into my therapy practice. I utilize medication management if and when indicated to optimize treatment. Due to my limited office hours, I am not equipped to treat conditions that could require urgent and immediate care and thus if you are struggling with chronic or treatment-resistant resistant mood disorders, psychotic disorders, personality disorders, addictions, severe eating disorders, or chronic suicidality, I recommend you seek care through a health system or provider that offers more services suited to best meet your needs.
With 35 plus years of experience, I do individual and group psychotherapy with young adults, mainly college students. Some of the concerns that I work with most are: anxiety, dealing with stress, depression, relational growth with parents, relationship concerns, self-injury, the coming out process, sexual assault and childhood history of abuse and bereavement. My approach is relaxed, authentic and validating. Let's recognize all of your feelings and qualities and not label you in a pejorative way. I have a solid background, am well trained and value you as my collaborator here.
As a licensed mental health counselor, I work with adult clients to address anxiety, depression, and life stressors. Each person has their own strengths, and I enjoy helping clients work with their individual tools to find sustainable balance. From years of experience working in outpatient therapy, I have developed an eclectic approach to counseling- pulling from ACT, mindfulness based, solution focused, and nature based orientations. I specialize in treating anxiety related disorders, but work with many clients struggling with mood disorders, previous trauma, and difficult life transitions. I understand that getting started with therapy or working with a new counselor can be a daunting process, and strive to create an environment in which clients feel supported and collaborative. If this sounds like a good fit, please feel free to reach out!
The heart of my practice is developing a safe, warm, and trusting therapeutic relationship. I offer a strength-based approach while meeting the needs and preferences of each client. For 10+ years, I have supported teens and young adults with multiple clinical disorders including depression, anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, suicidality, self-harm, school avoidance, family/relationship conflict & more. I am a strong believer in the power of collaboration and connection and hope to offer you a space where we will work together using your strengths to achieve your social, emotional, behavioral and therapeutic goals. Having had the opportunity to work with adolescents, young adults & families, the foundation of my work is based on a person-centered and relational approach. I strive to provide a space where you will feel safe, supported and heard. As a native Spanish speaker, I have also had the privilege of meeting with Spanish speaking clients. If you have never worked with a therapist, searching for one can feel overwhelming. I would be happy to speak with you over the phone or email to answer any questions you may have. I look forward to hearing your story. Please see my website for more details!
I approach each client with a wide angle view–considering all the factors that contribute to a client’s presenting concerns. For those interested in traditional psychotherapy, I draw from 20+ years of experience using a range of therapeutic interventions (psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, mindfulness focused) to offer individual and parent support services. In recent years I have been expanding my expertise and services to include other holistic modalities, specifically biofield tuning, which has allowed options for using sound and energy focused work to address emotional issues. For interested clients, I weave together the benefits of psychotherapy with biofield tuning to create a unique healing experience.

You deserve to feel heard, understood, and valued for who you are as an individual! When we feel stuck and misunderstood, challenged by uncomfortable feelings, or we are struggling to navigate life, engaging in therapy allows us to understand what is contributing to each of these experiences. Being able to talk through these moments helps start us on a path toward feeling fulfilled and enlivened. Together, we will explore how your past and present experiences, your interpersonal relationships, and your learned coping strategies contributes to how you feel. I believe everyone can be a confident, strong, and thriving individual. I am warm, non-judgmental, and attentive. I strive to meet you where you are at, help you explore your thoughts and feelings in a safe space, and find ways to overcome the challenges you face. I believe in the power of conversation to help facilitate understanding and change. I work with adolescents and adults from all backgrounds. I have advanced training in psychodynamic psychotherapy. In addition to private practice, I am a Staff Psychologist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School.
I think it is extremely courageous to admit we need help. I believe one of the most important criteria for successful treatment is to have a trusting, open, "therapeutic rapport" with a client. Without trust and a good connection, the therapeutic process cannot begin. With that in mind, I believe the first step is creating an environment safe from judgement and rich in support. My focus is to enable clients to acquire insight, skills, and motivation for emotional, cognitive, and behavioral transitions.I specialize in older adolescent and adult individual therapy as well as family and couples counseling. I assist clients in developing healthier coping and inter-personal skills that address topics related to: assertiveness, anger management, parenting strategies, managing mood disorders (anxiety and depression), impulse control, PTSD (EMDR), life transitions, grief, conflict resolution, mindfulness, sexuality, and stress management. I am a big proponent in assisting clients built self-confidence. I also have a degree in Accounting as well that I use with individuals and couples around money management, budgeting, savings, and retirement planning. I also have experience as a business consultant for individuals.

Group practice that specializes in several mental health and complex living issues, especially in the college population.
At Atlantic Behavioral Health in Wilmington, we’re here for college students from nearby towns—like Middlesex Community College in Bedford, Salem State commuters from Woburn, Endicott College students in Burlington, or Merrimack College folks just a few towns over in North Andover—who are grinding through school but wrestling with mental health hurdles. Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is designed for students like you—maybe you’re a Merrimack undergrad swamped by stress from late-night study sessions, or a commuter juggling classes and work but feeling crushed by anxiety that’s tanking your focus. We connect best with those pushing hard but struggling with things like low moods, constant worry, or even gambling habits that started as a distraction but took over. We’re a perfect match for students ready to face feeling off—whether it’s skipping hangouts because you’re drained, reeling from a rough grade or family chaos, or just wanting to clear the mental fog—without putting college on pause. Our clients usually want to get back in the driver’s seat—nailing that group project, chilling with friends, or enjoying a weekend without overanalyzing everything. Right off Route 93, we’re a quick drive from Billerica, Tewksbury, or Andover, and we’re super flexible with morning, afternoon, and evening IOP sessions. Got daytime classes? Our evening sessions let you stay on top of school while getting support after hours. Whether you’re the over-thinker who’s spiraling, the risk-taker who’s lost control of betting, or the quiet one hiding how hard it’s been, our IOP gives you a no-judgment space to sort it out with a team that gets the student hustle. With options to fit your life—morning for early risers, afternoon for mid-day breaks, or evening to keep your days free—we’re here to help you tackle your mental health and keep your college groove. Ready to feel stronger and more like yourself? We’re just a short trip away.
