Hello students! I know what it’s like to be you. I received both my undergraduate degree in Sociology and Master of Social Work degree from WCU. I enjoy helping people of all ages, particularly young adults, who want to address parts of themselves that are limiting their full potential. You know something doesn’t feel right but you aren’t quite sure; or maybe you know what’s wrong and want to make change but are afraid of what that might look like. I provide a safe, comfortable, and empowering space for those willing to explore.
Prior to opening my practice, I worked with college students for four years in various college counseling centers. I enjoy working with this population, as it is a time for challenge, growth, and change. I identify as a generalist, and have specialized skills in the treatment of trauma and PTSD, anxiety disorders, and autism spectrum disorder. In addition, I have significant experience in working with relationship concerns, grief and loss, women's issues, and life transitions. In my practice, I draw from many evidence-based theories and interventions including Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I believe the therapeutic alliance is the foundation of treatment, and therefore work to establish and maintain an empathetic and non-judgmental environment where patients feel safe, heard, and supported.
