Therapists for college students near Rice University
Life often asks women to hold so much—caring for others, navigating relationships, balancing responsibilities, and carrying silent struggles that can feel overwhelming. If you’ve been moving through an eating disorder, body image concerns, grief, trauma, fertility challenges, or simply the load of expectations, you deserve a place that feels safe, affirming, and collaborative. In our work together, you’ll find space to be fully seen and supported, with compassion guiding every step as you reconnect with your strength, your voice, and your true self. I offer a compassionate, collaborative space where honesty, care, and curiosity guide our work. Rather than quick fixes, I help you slow down, listen inward, and reconnect with parts of yourself that feel lost. Together, we’ll build safety and trust while using evidence-based approaches to support meaningful, lasting healing. Here, every part of you is welcome—your questions, your grief, your dreams, and your story. This is a place to release what you’ve been carrying, to feel deeply supported, and to rediscover your resilience. I'll honor your process, creating space for healing, growth, and a return to you, but an updated you that feels in alignment with where you see yourself.
On the outside, things might look like they’re working—but inside, it feels overwhelming, exhausting, or just… off. I work with thoughtful, driven people who are ready to untangle what’s going on and move toward something that feels better. My approach blends CBT, mindfulness, and relational work in a way that’s collaborative, down-to-earth, and actually useful in your day-to-day life. In sessions, you’ll find a warm, nonjudgmental space to explore what’s coming up and build practical tools for change. Our first session focuses on understanding your goals and creating a path forward that feels supportive and manageable.
Hey there! If you're a college student dealing with anxiety, depression, or any other struggles, know that you're not alone. As a therapist with 20 years of experience, 15 of which have been spent working directly with clients like you, I've seen a lot of what you're going through. College can be a tough time, filled with transitions, family conflicts, and the weight of expectations. But guess what? It's okay to not be okay sometimes. It's normal to feel overwhelmed by job anxiety, financial stress, or the pressure to keep up appearances on social media. That's where therapy comes in. By talking things out with someone who understands and supports you, you can start to feel better. Together, we can work on building your confidence, improving your relationships, and finding healthier ways to cope with whatever life throws your way. So if you're ready to take your life and your goals to the next level, why not give therapy a shot? It could be the best decision you make for yourself. And remember, reaching out for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. I'm here for you whenever you're ready to talk. Take care, Kathryn

I believe in your inherent strength and resilience, and my approach is designed to foster personal insight, address challenges, and explore new paths to healing. I am a patient, compassionate, non-judgmental helping professional who understands struggle and uncertainty. I believe that people are generally doing their best, and that growth and change can be difficult, uncomfortable, and scary. I think that having someone help you navigate through times of uncertainty, sit with you in your struggles, and challenge your beliefs and behaviors can be instrumental in understanding how and why your behavior patterns are contributing to your distress and preventing you from moving forward. I approach counseling from an interpersonal attachment-based perspective, in that I believe relational issues are the driving force behind our emotions, motivations, and behaviors. I specialize in working with clients who struggle with substance use and abuse, specifically individuals who work in the service and hospitality industries. I also have experience counseling clients with anxiety disorders, mood disorders, borderline personality disorder, and relationship difficulties. I received my Masters in Counseling from Loyola University New Orleans and I am a provisionally licensed professional counselor. I find inspiration personally and professionally in the works of Brené Brown, Irvin Yalom, Gabor Maté, and Thich Nhat Han. I counsel individuals, groups, and couples. I respect everyone's individuality and do not discriminate against anyone.

Courage isn’t about having no fear—it’s about feeling it and walking straight toward it. And let’s be honest, some days courage is just answering the phone, replying to that text, or—YIKES—opening the front door. Maybe you’ve mastered looking “fine” on the outside, while on the inside you’re desperately hoping no one gets close enough to see the real you. I get it. We all want life to be easy, but counseling? Yeah, it’s not always easy. It’s work. It’s showing up. It’s sticking with it when it feels uncomfortable. If you’re still reading this, I’m guessing something in your life feels heavy and you wish it could just magically change. I can’t promise magic—but I can promise to walk beside you every step of the way, helping you find your footing and your balance again.

Hi, I'm an LPC-Associate at Alive Austin. I work well with college students experiencing stressors and stages commonly faced during this period: life transitions, depression, anxiety, relational concerns, family conflict, or unprocessed childhood trauma. Many of my clients may struggle with boundaries, people pleasing, and navigating their new roles and responsibilities living on their own for the first time. Many people I see have also put off working though painful or significant experiences from their past that are still impacting them presently. I aim to help you build self-awareness, discard what is no longer serving you, and start finding fulfillment in life. I am currently unable to accept insurance as an LPC-Associate in Texas. I try to accommodate to students' needs by offering sliding scales. I also offer free consultations so there is not initial cost until you feel we're a good fit.
Congratulations on taking this big step in your mental health journey - seeking therapy. I strive to assist clients in fully exploring their emotions in an environment characterized by compassion, acceptance, and safety. I take a holistic view of each person and consider the physical, emotional, behavioral, and spiritual components of well-being. I feel strongly that connection with values facilitates growth and satisfaction. I am particularly interested in partnering with my clients as they seek to better understand and apply their values.

Hi! I'm Rosie (she/her). I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of both Georgia and Texas. I work primarily with young adults (20s and 30s), and many of my clients are people who identify as LGBTQIA+. I have special focus in trauma processing, ADHD management, and career exploration. Throughout my social work career I have passionately advocated for racial, social and economic justice through the empowerment of individuals and groups including BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, people with HIV, people experiencing homelessness, people with mental illness, people with disabilities, veterans, children and youth, and more. As a queer and neurodivergent therapist myself, I am mindful of how people’s identities factor into their experience of the world and their experience in therapy. I believe that people begin to heal the moment they feel heard. While I do incorporate interventions like CBT, EMDR, IFS, and distress tolerance, my first and foremost focus is to be unconditionally on your team and on your side. Past clients have told me that I am a natural listener and am genuine and warm in how I relate to people. When I am not obsessing over the personality psychology phenomenon known as the enneagram, I enjoy laying in the sun with a good podcast, jogging the Atlanta beltline, reading, cooking, yoga, and exploring the local food scene.
