My training in EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution Focused therapy means I have the expertise you need and deserve when you are healing from anxiety or painful memories. But, at the end of the day, you want to you’re working with someone who “gets” what it means to be a young woman struggling with anxiety, or troubling memories, right? I get it, because I have lived it myself. I’ve had the anxiety that made me question every decision, and the painful memories that keep coming up at inconvenient times. I know sometimes you just want to quit. So when we work together, you won’t just get a trained therapist. You’ll get someone who truly understands what you’re going through. Clients come to see me looking for a therapist who helps them feel seen and understood, because therapy should be a place where you feel supported and safe. Sessions with me are about more than just talking. We will incorporate mind and body, so you can experience wholeness again. Together, we get to where you're feeling stuck and work to fix it. We are a small private practice located in the heart of Old Town Helotes (3 miles outside of Loop 1604 on Bandera Rd.). We work with clients of all ages and backgrounds, and we consider ourselves to be LGBTQ+ allies. Together we work with our clients on a variety of issues ranging from adjustment to college, family & couples issues, stress, anxiety, depression, self-esteem & body-image issues, and with children & teens. If you feel you need help getting through a rough patch, are struggling with life changes, feeling down or depressed/anxiety, or just need to work through some things, we are here to help. We have fully licensed therapists (LMFT & LPC), therapists who are working towards obtaining their full licensure (LPC-Associates & LMFT-Associates), and therapy student-interns (interns working towards their masters degrees) within our practice to meet your emotional, behavioral, and financial needs. To help accommodate the different financial needs of our clients we offer 3 tiers of pricing: Therapy Student-Intern Rates: $15-$30 per session LPC or LMFT Associate Rates: $65-$80 per session PhD, LMFT/LPC Rates: $150 with a reduced rate of $80 *All rates based on income and level of need.

Deidra is a certified a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, as well as a Family Nurse Practitioner with over 25 years of nursing experience in-patient and emergency psychiatry. She has worked in a variety of other settings, such as medical emergency, rehabilitation and wound care, home health, case management, geriatric outpatient residential, geriatric psychiatry (inpatient locked) and outpatient community care clinics. She believes in taking a holistic, mind, body, and spirit approach to addressing the root causes of your mental health symptoms and will develop a plan to move forward toward healing. She will listen carefully to your specific concerns and collaborate with you in developing a treatment plan that balances your physical and mental health.

Emily S. Burris, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical and aeromedical psychologist specializing in evidenced-based assessment and treatment of mood disorders and mental health issues related to trauma, chronic medical conditions, LGBTQ+ status, grief/loss, neurodevelopmental conditions, and psychosocial/phase of life stressors. Dr. Burris is skillfully trained to address specific occupational questions related to fitness for duty and/or flight, provide differential diagnostic assessment for young adults experiencing attention/concentration difficulties, and deliver health-related psychological assessments for transgender health care and surgical patients. She has a diverse clinical and education background that she intends to utilize in private practice in helping others maximize strengths, improve intra- and interpersonal well-being and communication, and identify appropriate treatment and/or occupation-related recommendations.
