My story starts with losing a delivery job with UPS in my early 20s because I ran over two cones during training. I needed a new direction and found my passion for helping people. I am grateful I ran over those two cones because it changed my career. Now, I have 15 years of experience as a licensed mental health professional and started Cuda Counseling (CC), where I work with an amazing team. We help individuals succeed by dialing down their inner critic and creating an inner ally. I understand that a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation of effective counseling. That's why I strive to create a warm and welcoming environment where you can freely discuss your challenges and wins. My action-oriented approach is designed to help you identify achievable measures of success, empowering you to realize your full potential. Don't hesitate to reach out if you're ready to experience inner freedom by identifying and overcoming challenging thoughts, behaviors, and emotions. Let's connect and start your journey towards more joy, better relationships, and peace. Remember, the first step is often the hardest and most rewarding.
An important part of successful therapy is feeling connected with your therapist. I'll first work with you on building that connection by listening and trying to understanding your feelings and experiences. We will also work collaboratively to understand patterns in your relationships and past experiences that help shape your current situation and behaviors. Coming to a better understanding of yourself, your feelings and behaviors is the first order of change. I also specialize in working with children, adolescents and families. With a Master's in School Psychology, I collaborate well with school professionals to support your child more comprehensively. I also provide parenting support to address challenging behaviors at home. I make sure the therapeutic process is collaborative. By helping you build upon strengths and understand challenges, you can start having a greater awareness of your thoughts, feelings and behaviors and incorporate healthier coping strategies and attain professional, academic, and interpersonal goals. You may look like you have it together on the outside, but actually feel anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck. I help individuals better understand themselves, discover ways to cope and create meaningful, lasting change. I work with adults who feel anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck in patterns like people-pleasing and overthinking. I also support individuals navigating anxiety, depression, stress, and life transitions. Many of my clients have trauma histories, caregiving roles, or chronic illness and are seeking deeper insight. You don’t have to have everything figured out to start. Many people come to therapy simply feeling stressed, on edge or misunderstood. Through therapy, you'll gain tools to manage overwhelming feelings, improve relationships and break patterns negatively impacting your life.
For many queer, non-binary, and trans people, grief is not always recognized or supported. There is no casserole, no card. This may include family lost after coming out, a faith community that turned away, the loss of a beloved pet, grief related to sexuality or intimacy, or the changes brought by chronic illness. Some may also be carrying grief connected to earlier trauma that was never fully acknowledged. Unrecognized grief can be especially isolating. You may find yourself carrying something real and significant that others have overlooked or questioned. Therapy offers a place where this grief can be tended with care. I offer LGBTQ+ centered grief therapy online in Georgia and New York. Because grief is not a problem to solve, my approach is compassionate, steady, and unhurried. I pay particular attention to relationships and losses that were real, even if others didn’t see them that way. I support clients through losses that often go unrecognized. As a lesbian therapist, I understand what it can mean to grieve without witness. I specialize in losses that go unseen and am especially drawn to supporting LGBTQ+ elders navigating aging, caregiving, and loss. Reaching out can feel vulnerable. If you're looking for a place where your grief can be acknowledged and supported, I am here when you are ready.
Are you tired of "reacting" and not feeling good about yourself? Is your past controlling you in the present in ways that aren't serving you? When we are "hijacked" by our past experiences we lose the ability to "choose" how we want to respond. This affects how we feel physically and emotionally; which can make us feel depressed, anxious, shameful. This in turn impacts the quality of our interpersonal relationships. It doesn't have to be that way. I see therapy as a relational and collaborative process that supports wellbeing on mental, physical and spiritual levels. My approach blends several Somatic and Talk based psychotherapies: EMDR, The Trauma Resiliency Model, Internal Family Systems, Gestalt Psychotherapy, Relational, and several, Mindfulness based awareness techniques which include my many years background in the healing effects of yoga. Each person is an embodied being with pleasant an unpleasant experiences embedded in the flesh and bones and tangled in the mind. My therapeutic work with individuals and couples is to process the unpleasant and build resiliency in support of personal transformation.

I provide a supportive and authentic space to address anxiety, trauma, substance use, life transitions, and identity exploration. My approach is person-centered and integrates tools from Motivational Interviewing, CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and emotion-focused techniques—always tailored to your needs. Life’s challenges can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to carry them alone. In therapy with me, you’ll find compassion, clarity, and guidance to help you heal, grow, and reconnect with your strengths.

Have you been feeling lost or stuck? Feeling disconnected with yourself? Or feeling alone in the challenges you are facing? I believe that everyone is doing the best they can with what they have; that we are shaped by the tools we have adopted or have learned throughout our lives. However, these tools aren’t always enough, or don’t serve us in the ways we truly need. Many of our emotional challenges or struggles come from pieces of ourselves that are hurt or misunderstood. While these experiences can feel isolating, this is not a journey you have to approach alone. I work with clients to help them explore their identities, develop self-compassion, process trauma, and learn more effective ways to identify and manage their emotions. Through a mix of counseling modalities, we will work together to help you heal and feel better equipped to handle both current challenges and those you may face in the future. As someone who's been on the "other side of the couch", I understand that starting therapy can feel intimidating; not knowing if things are going to "get better" can be scary. However, therapy is not always about just moving forward, but rather sometimes visiting the past or sitting in the present so that you can grow and feel more prepared for the future.
